Whenever a renter rents your gear worth up to $20,000, you are automatically covered by the Owner Guarantee.

The Owner Guarantee means that owners will be covered in all scenarios, whether damage, loss, theft, or fraud.

We're there for you with the Owner Guarantee

We're committed to creating a safe and trusted community of creators. Thanks to our ironclad vetting system, 99.98% of KitSplit rentals go without a hitch. The Owner Guarantee covers the costs in the rare case (0.02% chance) that the gear does not get returned after a rental (termed voluntary parting by the insurance industry).

Here's how it works:

  • All owners with rentals of gear worth up to $20,000 will be automatically covered by the Owner Guarantee.
  • You are always covered. There is no opt-in and no fee.
  • In the event of an incident, you must file a claim according to the steps below.
  • Assuming the claim is approved, you will be reimbursed for the value of the equipment rented, less a 20% deductible, which is calculated based on the value of the gear.
  • The Owner Guarantee is secondary to existing coverage procured by the owner.

Need to report missing equipment?

To file a claim you must meet the following criteria:

  • The claim is filed no more than 7 days after the incident
  • The claims form is completed and all information is provided
  • You have filed a police report and can provide a copy
  • You have filed a claim on any other insurance policies covering the gear
