Carlotta Summers is a graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and a member of New York Women in Film. She is an actress, writer, and a freelance filmmaker currently based in NYC. After obtaining her degree in theater with a minor in psychology, she continued to study filmmaking at Stonestreet Studios. She uses a multitude of elements from her training to create complex characters grounded in realism. A few of her works have been featured at NYU’s Experimental Theater Wing, most notably The Illustrious Beauty as part of their second year showcase. Her acting work includes a range of credits from Off-Off Broadway to television. Most recently she was featured in Shonali Bose’s independent film Margarita, With a Straw along side William Moseley and Jose Rivera as a young student. Carlotta’s passion for film stems from the idea that the power of cinema can change perception, and with this provoke action.
