Brooklyn, NY Member since May 2016
Hi! I'm an actor, writer and a NY Neo Futurist who currently residing in Brooklyn, New York.
I enjoy experimenting with ideas about connection through communal human experiences, to create a greater sense of community and enlightened understanding with works that remind us of how glorious, absurd, sensitive and humorous we all are.
As an interdisciplinary artist, I do this in many forms including film, theatre, performance art, podcast, music and dance. Drawing mostly from the non-illusory and utilizing a plethora of devices, I blend dream scape, metaphor, realism, satire, farce and philosophy in my personal work in an attempt to enact a visceral response from the viewer and/or my fellow performer.
I have worked in Film, TV, Theater and Commercial roles in Australia, Japan and the U.S., most notably in My Crazy Love (Oxygen Network), Marilyn (as Marilyn Monroe, Abingdon Theatre), Love's Fire (Atlantic Theatre Company: Stage Two), Hunny-Bun and Baby Doll (Dixon Place), Home and Away (Channel 7), and in the NY Neo Futurists’ award winning bi-weekly show, Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind.
I will be performing in Too Much Light throughout 2016. For more information, please see www.nynf.org or www.katy-mayhudson.com. Feel free to drop me a line too!
