I am Robert Streeper, owner of Driver's Eye in Los Angeles, CA, a camera car company specializing in car-to-car shooting. I am a SAG-AFTRA stunt driver with over 15 years in the industry with experience in grip, rigging and camera. We take pride in our professional approach, with safety beginning and ending with an experienced and competent driver who fully understands vehicle dynamics. Car-to-car shots can now be both safe and affordable.

MotoCrane ULTRA with Porsche Cayenne S Camera Car

Overview: The MotoCrane ULTRA system is a versatile 12' crane arm that is designed to mount to just about any vehicle with a roof for car-to-car shooting. Subsequently, there is now an affordable tool that allows filmmakers to add production value and capture their dynamic car sequences without breaking the budget by trailering in a Russian Arm rig, or risking their lives by hanging out of a van (yes, we’ve all done it and we’re not proud of it!). This all in one package comes with everything you need to make your seemingly difficult or expensive driving scenes a breeze. Camera Car: For any shoots local to Los Angeles, we supply a fully customized and modified matte black Porsche Cayenne S camera car. It has a permanently attached speedrail frame bolted and welded through the roof of the vehicle that provides firm mounting points for the MotoCrane. The camera car comes pre-wired with SDI, P-tap power and AC power. There is an Atomos Shogun Flame with record capability to speed up the approval process by playing back immediately from inside the car and not having to exit the car and accessing the camera for playback. It has SmallHD 702 Bright monitors mounted for the AC and gimbal operator. A customized and fully adjustable mount in the rear seat can hold either Alpha Wheels if your gimbal operator prefers (additional sub rental price for wheels), or the mount can be used to affix the Ronin 2 joystick to keep it stationary during driving. A Preston FI+Z is included if your production doesn’t already have its own wireless system it prefers. A rear rock deflector helps protect closely following picture cars from chips and dings. A custom switch allows all rear lights on the car to be turned off to eliminate any brake light reflections from the camera car being projected onto your picture car during night shooting. Alternate Mounting Options: Every shoot is different and maybe our camera car isn’t what you need for your shoot. If you need a large 4x4 truck or UTV vehicle because of your terrain, the MotoCrane can mount to that too. In some instances, we’ve even mounted the MotoCrane on the picture car and shot back into the picture car itself (see the attached police car photo). The system breaks down into checked luggage and we can fly internationally with it. We can rent a car to mount it on when we land and can be up and running later that day. Mounting options are almost endless: boats, buses, trains, you name it. Labor (both union and non-union available): We require a minimum of two trained crew members to be booked with the rig (at an additional cost to production) - a Driver (all Drivers are SAG-AFTRA Stunt Drivers and/or Teamster 399 Camera Car Drivers personally trained on all MotoCrane systems) and a Boom Operator (rates vary depending on union/non-union status of the project, please contact for more details). The rig comes with a Ronin 2 gimbal that also requires a crew member of ours to come out, unless your production has a qualified Ronin 2 Op/Tech who can competently balance the gimbal and operate from the camera car. Production will also need to supply an AC to pull focus from the camera car. If your production prefers a MoVi Pro, MoVi XL, Shotover G1, or ARRI SRH3, we can mount those on the MotoCrane as well (added expense for a sub rental of a gimbal other than our Ronin 2, or production can supply the alternate gimbal with their own Op/Tech). Included Equipment List (camera package provided by production): -MotoCrane ULTRA system -Ronin 2 Gimbal -MotoCrane cheeseborough and/or suction cup mounts for any mounting application -Porsche Cayenne S Camera Car -Custom wheels/joystick mount -Permanently installed power inverter -Atomos Shogun Flame w/1Tb Master Caddy -Three SmallHD 702 Bright monitors w/Matthews Infinity Arms -Preston II 3-Channel FI+Z w/DM1 motors -Preston power and run/stop cables for Alexa Mini and RED -Various SDI/HDMI/Lightning/USB-C cables for accessories -Pelican/SKB cases for all gear
