Aya is a software product manager, producer and documentary filmmaker based in Brooklyn.

She began her career developing educational products at Toys R Us and later joined littleBits, a tech education start-up where she project managed content and software initiatives across the company.

She later began applying her project management skills to make films. She directed short documentaries and produced narrative shorts. She co-produced Dunya's Day, which won the jury award for international fiction at the 2019 Sundance film festival.

She is currently in post-production for her short documentary, Baladna. An excerpt of her film screened at the 2019 DOC NYC film festival.
