My 9-5 job is a system administrator for a tech publishing company in Boston. On weekends I photograph family portraits and weddings, with an occasional event, corporate head shot, or architecture checkered in through the year (but mainly family and weddings for me). My photography workflow goes in waves, where some parts of the year I'll be busy, but then in other times I won't have a gig for a month or so. I like the idea that my gear can generate some income even when I'm not busy... that just sounds efficient to me.
