Hi there! I've been working as a camera operator/ editor in New York for about 10 years now, I gathered a nice little video kit for all my needs. I love meeting new people and places through my job. I started working full time for an event space in NYC where I direct the video capture of concerts and talk shows, I also shoot interviews, promos and mini docs. I still freelance when I can!
I love talking gear and shooting styles, and being inspired by my fellow filmmakers.

Canon 70-200 f/4

Great lens if you need a telephoto. The IS is super useful, it's way lighter than the 70-200 f2.8 so much better if you're carrying it around.

Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM

Fantastic lens, fast and wide. I love to use this lens with my C100. It's trickier with the 5D since it gets so wide with the full frame, but with time I managed to get awesome shots with it. f2.8 makes it nice for low light conditions.

David was great and I really appreciate him being flexible on pick up times! Helped me out in a pinch when I needed to add a second camera for a shoot on my way up from Washington, D.C. I will definitely rent from him again next time I head up to NYC.

This was my first time renting through Kitsplit and David was nothing short of excellent. He was very prompt and accommodating in his messages to my scheduling needs. He let me come a little earlier than planned to pick up the equipment, even offered to drive it over to me, and he walked me through everything he had. His camera and equipment were in great condition and easy to transport in a camera backpack and tripod bag. My only picky piece of feedback is that the listing said he had a DC cable but come pick up time, he didn't know where it was. I wanted one for my full day shoots but in the end it was fine because I found one from somewhere else and also, his batteries were big and lasted for 8+ hours anyway. I highly recommend renting from David - his equipment is excellent for a range of shooting needs and he is incredibly kind, friendly and helpful throughout the rental process. I hope to rent and work with him again!

This was my second time renting from David - much like the first time, it was a pleasure - he was prompt in his responses, flexible and accommodating with my changing schedule. I needed the camera only for a morning so he let me come quite late in the evening to pick up the equipment, removed the pieces I didn't need in advance, and let me drop it off at his office after my shoot. He offered advice and troubleshooting both in person and remotely. I know I'm supposed to review the rental experience but meeting David, his wife and his dog was part of what made the experience enjoyable - they were all friendly and great company during the pick up and drop off times. See my other review of him for more details but simply put, it was great renting from David.
