Michael Jones is a Peabody Award-winning and Grammy-nominated sound recordist, radio/podcast producer, and sound editor. He earned a BS from UNCA and a Master of Music and Music Technology from NYU. Notable award-winning projects as a sound recordist include The Queen of Versailles; Watergate; Divide and Conquer: The Story of Roger Ailes; Inside Job; Cradle of Champions; Generation Wealth; The China Hustle; Miss Sharon Jones!; and Client 9. Recent projects include The Kingmaker and Desert One. Jones was a long-time co-producer and is currently the chief audio engineer of PRX’s Afropop Worldwide which has its production HQ at Studio 44 in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Currently he is shooting Season 11 of Barnwood Builders - the #1 rated show on the DIY Network - as well as several other documentary film projects.

(1) Denecke TS-3

The Denecke TS reads and displays SMPTE/EBU time code and has an internally mounted syncbox time code generator. It jams to all standard frame rates, including 23.976 fps and user bits jam automatically when the time is set.

The high stability TCXO (Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator) ensures low drift and is standard on the TS-3.
