ED'S NOTES:
Because - let's be honest - you rent an Arri Alexa Mini - and you have to build it out just to use it as a handheld or tripod camera. You need a cage with a battery rig with spacing so you can grab the Cfast card. You need an abox to get reference audio. And you need some way to get the viewfinder with the menu screen and you need a baseplate - and it's now the size of the amira. And the same weight.

The amira has built in audio and a quick panel to quickly change ND, white balance, ISO, and etc without having to go into a menu.

It has more mounting points on the top and bottom.
