This lens is manual focus, but does include electronics that communicate with Nikon DSLRs to indicate focal length and aperture, so even entry-level bodies like the D3200 can use this lens in all metering modes. (Lenses without these electronics, such as Nikon AI or AI-S lenses, can only be used in mode M on entry level bodies, and modes M and A on higher-end bodies.)
