Stages covered include the following: Script revisions: Making your script the best it can be before filming begins. We’ll find your best voice, covering subjects of effective drama, suspense, comedy, and poignancy. Pre-production: Lining up talent, assembling the right equipment, securing locations, budgeting and scheduling. Production: How to stay on schedule, when to slow down, speed up, stay focused, manage the crew and cinematography, and evade disasters so you get the film you envisioned, and then some. Post Production: Putting it all together with editing, sound mix, music, image correction, and titles so it’s ready for the world to see.

Stages covered include the following:

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Academy Award-nominated Luke Geissbühler has excelled as a cinematographer in nearly all genres of filmmaking with over 30 feature films, 25 documentaries, and countless television shows and commercials to his name. Some of his achievements include having shot Borat, the documentaries Buck and Helvetica, as well as Sir Patrick Stewarts's tour de force performance in Match. He has been a trusted hand to Victoria's Secret, capturing the human form at its highest level for over a decade. In 2010, Luke became unexpectedly world renowned when he and his eight year old son launched a camera into astonishing near space in a homemade capsule, as seen in the short film Space Balloon. A native New Yorker and self-taught engineer, he received a BFA from NYU's Tisch School before starting his career at the cutting edge R/GA studio doing VFX and tabletop photography. Since then, he has traveled the globe orchestrating elaborate shoots for HBO, Netflix, Amazon, Will Ferrell, David Wain, The Muppets, OKGo, Adam McKay, Doug Liman, Barry Levinson, and Katherine Bigelow, among many others. His latest contributions to the screen are Sacha Baron Cohen's Who is America, and Michael Moore's Fahrenheit 11/9. ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Joe Gabriel is an award-winning Director/DP specializing in Branded Content and Documentary. A graduate of NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, Joe has traveled the world shooting campaigns for brands including GE, Merck, NBC, Nationwide, and AT&T. Joe was the series DP for the Emmy-Nominated National Geographic series "Brain Games" and the new science series "Brainchild" for Netflix produced by Pharrell Williams. From large film sets directing crews to working as a one man documentary storyteller, Joe creates imagery that forges connection. As a teacher, Joe uses a real world approach that draws on his experiences over 15+ years in the industry. He’s passionate about helping the next generation of filmmakers do their best work.
