Born and raised in Morocco, I have traveled around the world and learnt different languages while leading research in a diverse array of fields such as political science & international affairs, anthropology, linguistics, earth science, etc. I have both directed and produced films about a variety of subject matters including, but not limited to, disability, mental illness and sexuality. I am interested in collaborating with individuals to intimately tell their unique stories and create character driven films.
I have had the great pleasure of working with Academy Award winning documentary filmmaker Cynthia Wade, and have been taught by 2-time Emmy Award winning documentary producer Marilyn Ness, who both continue to inspire and mentor me as I continue as a filmmaker. I believe that my experiences constantly contribute to learning how to achieve the right balance between having characters open up to the camera while remaining authentic and respectful of their experiences and intimate stories.
