Ayanna Gill is an award-winning, multi-faceted field producer and aspiring documentary director and filmmaker. Ayanna started her professional career in broadcast journalism working at ABC News as a Digital News Associate for World News Tonight with David Muir, then became an Associate Producer with ABC News Nightline, and most recently was a Field Producer with CNN+ FlashDocs. Ayanna's ambition to work in the field of journalism is driven by telling stories of people of color, racial intersectionality stories, redemption stories, and shedding a light on issues impacting underserved and often forgotten communities. Ayanna's favorite projects to date have been recently working on a documentary on Jussie Smollett which not only was a deep dive into the investigation surrounding his involvement in an alleged hate crime in 2019, trial, and verdict; but also examined the aftermath and the larger context of the case as seen through the lens of Chicago. Other favorite projects to date have been working on ABC's Juneteenth network special piece on Emmett Till and 'Hear her Voice' a Nightline Turning Point special on Black maternal mortality. Her goal is to use her gifts and talents as a journalist to shape influential stories.
