The Canon Speedlite 580EX II is powerful, with a guide number of 190, full tilt and swivel ability, and an autofocus assist beam. It’s been replaced by the more powerful Canon Speedlite 600EX-RT. It has a shorter recycling time than the 580EX Mark I and makes no audible noise while recharging. It can be controlled via the camera’s menu on most newer Canon bodies and is of sturdier build than the original version.
