This Tascam DR-680 features a preamp mod on channels 1 & 2 by Busman Audio. The mod provides much better detail through extremely low noise amps (the noise floor in the high gain setting is lowered by over -8db!) giving excellent SNR and a virtually transparent noise floor. The unit can accept four (4) XLR inputs and two (2) 1/4" inputs, and can provide +48v phantom power to all channels. The unit can also record a stereo mixdown track, with dedicated gain control. Very versatile and easy to use!
