I like to use these to soften features and add that 90's romantic comedy look. Its a good filter for a beauty shot or close up. Also looks great in bright situations with a light source or highlight to give you that bloom effect. Great for high contrast situations in that it gives a little "fill." Of course this all depends on the amount of direct light hitting the filter vs reflected light.

*NOTE*

Remember, use the more dense filters on wides and the less dense on your telephoto focal lengths. (if you are trying to keep the look similar across lens changes) Also, you will not get any flares on the lens with these filters.
