This recorder accepts both XLR and 1/4'' in jack connectors x4. This devices flashes when you are peaking which is very helpful. I would recommend going ahead and renting out a pair of headphones to monitor the recordings. This is also a perfect multi channel recorder if you are recording a podcast. Pro tip, if pairing with the Rode NTG-3 RF-Bias Shotgun Microphone toggle the input switch to mic input instead of line input. Every professional content creator I know has one of these handy recorders in their kit. Rent it out and see how you like it.
