I am a New Jersey advertising, corporate and editorial photographer who captures intimate, heroic and soulful portraits. The pursuit of these images is my passion.
The work I create for my clients, and my personal work, is driven by a desire to capture experience and emotion. I am fascinated by gesture and expression. I am passionate about effective communication and mutual trust and combine these skills to create meaningful portraits.
My journey as a photographer began in the military. I have also worked as a police officer and a high school teacher. These careers have helped me see the world with a caring and watchful eye and taught me how to be an effective listener. I served in the Marine Corps and the Coast Guard honorably for 20 years. I am recognized as the most published and award winning photographer in Coast Guard history. I began to shoot newspaper assignments while on active duty and soon found myself shooting advertising and commercial assignments. I have been shooting professionally for 15 years. I have won several Military Photographer of the Year category awards and the Advertising Photographers of America Grand Prize in 2008. My client list for national and local advertising campaigns and corporate and editorial assignments include: Atlantic Health, Overlook Medical Center, Thomas Jefferson Hospital, Exxon Mobil, Wounded Warrior Project, U.S. Lawns, Verizon, The Department of Defense, The Department of Homeland Security, Devil’s Purse Brewing Co., The College of New Jersey, Broadway House for Continuing Care, PARADE, AARP, NJ Monthly and Runners World. I volunteer with Flashes of Hope a non-profit organization dedicated to creating powerful, uplifting portraits of children fighting cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
I am a contributing photographer with Aurora Photos and a member of The American Society of Media Photographers (ASMP), American Photographic Artists (APA) and the National Press Photographers Association (NPPA).
I live in western New Jersey with my wife, daughter and our dog Charlie. I am a close drive to all of central New Jersey, New York City and Philadelphia.
When I am not on assignment, or working on my personal photography projects, I enjoy spending time with my family and fly-fishing for trout on the many beautiful rivers in NJ, NY and PA.
