Using a DSLR to record video? You'll need some way to capture audio and the H4n is definitely the way to go! It has two built in microphones, for capturing environmental sounds and two xlr inputs for plugging your professional-grade microphones into. It can even be configured to capture audio from all for inputs at the same time!

Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM

I have had this "nifty-fifty" for several years now and it always comes in handy. It is sharp, fast and a great focal length for both photography and video. Definitely a go-to lens.

GoPro Hero 4 Black

I just got this little camera and I've had a lot of fun playing around with it and seeing what it can do. It is quite impressive. It is waterproof (with no need for an external casing), it shoots 1080p, it is controllable from your phone via WiFi, and it fits just about anywhere because it is so small. What more could you ask for? Comes with your choice of clamp mount, head strap mount, or 3-way grip/arm/tripod mount.
