Filmmaking became a natural evolution of me as a storyteller. I started out as a grassroots worker then went into journalism. After some time, I worked in non-profit then became a professor.

My research looked at Nigerian movies. To fuse my interests, I turned a poem I wrote in 2002 in a docuseries using Afrofuturism and the Nollywood formula. Life comes into full circle of me being back into the community, but in a different way.
