I feel weird typing in this about me section, but if you wanna read it, it's here.
I started out recording things with an old Sony HDRSR11 making dumb videos back in 2015.
I was having fun, although editing was a whole new world that I didn't know well. So i just kept recording and recording because I had Gigabytes of disk space.
From documenting a leaf falling from a tree and flowers blowing in the wind to a few crackheads doing hood rat stuff with their friends.
Sadly one day the HDRSR11 stopped working and all those videos were dead along with the camcorder.
So I upgraded to an A6300.. then sold it because the A6500 was announced about a week later.
In the meantime I downgraded to an A6000 because I was addicted to this recording stuff, although I bought it used with no lens.
Then my Prime Lens came and it blew me away! Especially the seeing at night part. I could finally record some of the crazy things that happen in this crazy neighborhood I was living in during the night.
Some situations I found myself in were definitely an adrenaline rush.
Then I heard about "Full Frame" and how you can see even better at night!
There was definitely many questions like which video editing software is the best? How to color grade? Why am I getting music copyright strikes on Youtube? What music making software is the best? How to setup a midi keyboard in Ableton Live? How to get that cinematic look. What gimbal is the best? What slider is the best? Is a dolly really necessary? Which cinema lenses are the best and why have i been shooting with photo lenses this whole time?
That's when I found myself shooting less and less.
Focusing on all the other areas that make up a video when you can do what my friend does and just hire people to do those other parts for you.
Then I remembered how I had the most fun with my cheap $70 Dollar HDRSR11 that had no lenses or any of that other gear. Just a zoom knob and a flippy screen.
I was to deep into the camera, lenses, gimbals, audio gear and music field to focus instead on what should have mattered the most.
The story.
