Lea Khayata is an award winning filmmaker and the founder of Pushpin Films, a Brooklyn based production company producing editorial and commercial content. She’s worked with the BBC, the New Yorker, the New York Times, Bloomberg, Time Magazine, The Marshall Project, and Allure Magazine; produced and directed series for The Food Network, MSNBC and The New York Post. Clients include the Gagosian Gallery, Bustle, Yale Medicine, Columbia University, and J. Walter Thompson. She was awarded a Webby Award for Best Editing and collaborated on a New York Times documentary that garnered an Emmy Award and a Peabody nomination. She was formerly the co-founder of Granny Cart Productions (previous Video Journalism Bootcamp instructors), through which she has been featured in PDN: Photo District News, Storyhunter, Columbia Visuals, and Crain's Business.
