I'm excited to join the community, and help this great sharing idea grow. I'm a freelance photographer working primarily for magazines, ad agencies, and publishers, along with interior designers, and I often shoot events. Environmental portraits and reportage is really at the center of what I like to do best. I live and work out of my home here in Jersey City. I look forward to meeting some of you and hope my gear, and perhaps some of my experience, can be useful. I love talking about photography and I'm happy to try and answer any questions you might have about using my equipment or anything else. I've learned pretty much everything about making images from talking to others who do it too, and I figure KitSplit will be more of a good thing! It goes without saying that renting gear on this side of the Hudson is not nearly as convenient, or as plentiful, as it is in Manhattan. Also, the cost of renting equipment in Manhattan is not cheap, and add to that the hassle of commuting in to pick up and drop off, it all adds up. My prices are all lower than the NYC rental houses I have frequented, and I offer discounts for weekend or weekly rates (a week is charged as 3 days and a weekend is charged as 1).
