Nikon 105mm f/2 DC

This professional grade lens, referred to as "The Prince of Bokeh" by Ken Rockwell, is one of the most superb portrait lenses ever made by Nikon. With Defocus Control to add to the bokeh on wide open shots, it's a professional grade lens with incredible optics. From Ken Rockwell: "The Nikon AF 105mm f/2 DC is one of Nikon's very best lenses. Nikon has always made extraordinary 105mm lens, ever since its first 105mm lenses from rangefinder days, and this is the best yet. The Nikon 105 DC is among the sharpest lenses ever made, and it's built pro-tough out of metal in Japan, not out of plastic in China." This lens has 5 stars with ~90 reviews on B&H as well.

Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G Lens

This unassuming lens is the best budget choice for a D3 or D700, much better than any zoom, to get you the fast autofocus, great low-light performance and the sharpness for which you bought a D3 or D700 in the first place. I love this lens because it's lightweight, fast, and sharp as a tack, especially around f2.8-4. It has a minimum focus distance of about 1 FT, and takes AMAZING up close portraits with natural light or flash. Great eye catchlights and full frame images, with no distortion.

Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4G Lens

The Nikon Nikkor 50 mm f/1.4D is an AF camera lens specially designed to be the perfect first lens for someone who is just delving into photography as a hobby or as a business. Affordable yet not lacking in the features that photographers demand of an AF camera lens, this Nikkor AF lens sticks to the traditional seven elements within six groups layout. This particular layout allows the Nikon Nikkor 50 mm f/1.4D to deliver distortion free images that feature superb color accuracy as well as resolution. With the aperture on the maximum setting, this Nikkor AF lens still delivers a high contrast. Due to the 50mm focal length, there is no distortion on the perspective with the Nikon Nikkor 50 mm f/1.4D. The DX format allows this camera lens to function more like a short telephoto lens, which makes it ideal for shooting portrait.

SIGMA AF 400mm F/5.6 D APO Tele Macro Lens, Caps and Case for NIKON

This rare super telephoto prime lens is great for birds, surfers, and anything far, far away :) It's a F5.6 x 400MM lens, with a tripod collar permanently affixed to the middle of the lens. The lens is also awesome for macro work, as it can do better than 1:1 repro: Get close-up shots even when you're physically distant. These macro capabilities add an entirely new dimension to photographing flora and fauna. With a minimum shooting distance of 63 inches the lens achieves a 1:3 reproduction ratio.
