A real world approach to shooting great looking interviews at any budget level. Learn how to choose a location, work with spaces that are less than ideal, and decide what creative style fits best. We will use case studies and hands on demonstrations to plot out different styles of framing and lighting to advance your cinematography technique.
The class will cover:
-Single Camera vs 2-3 Camera setups
-Conventional framing vs unconventional
-How eyeline changes lighting
-Different lighting styles: Beauty, Natural, Dramatic
-Commercial style exterior lighting setups with large grip packages
-Putting together a quality portable lighting package
-Questions to ask/what to look for when choosing a location
-Studio vs Practical locations
Students can bring their own cameras + tripods if they have them, so they can get hands on experience using the tools that they would use on paying work. There will be 1-2 cameras available for demonstration and those who do not have their own gear.
