Zeiss ZF/ZE Prime Lens Set (21-28-35-50-85-100)

Zeiss Classics: the perfect blend of modern and vintage optics, in a light but sturdy package, and affordable to boot. This set includes: Zeiss ZF.2 Distagon 21/2.8 Zeiss ZF.2 Distagon 28/2 Zeiss ZF.2 Distagon 35/2 Zeiss ZF Planar 50/1.4 Zeiss ZE Planar 85/1.4 Zeiss ZE Makro-Planar 100/2 Nanuk 918 Case with Lens Inserts The ZF lenses (21-28-35-50) are originally Nikon-mount and have been declicked and converted to EF at Duclos. (The 21, 35 and 50 are permanent EF conversions). The 85mm and 100mm Macro are ZE versions, meaning EF native mounts and no manual aperture ring. Optically there is no difference between ZF and ZE - the set is built with a combination due to personal preference and price. They all have seamless focus rings, 77mm step-up rings with 80mm push caps. If you're looking for an affordable set that matches a pleasing look (in that "vintage, but not too vintage" range) with modern construction (all lenses are built in the last decade), this is the sweetspot.

Super Takumar "Poor Man's Cooke" 8 Lens Set (17-24-28-35-50-85-105-135)

This is a newly-assembled (2022) Super Takumar set built with some of the absolute cleanest copies I've seen of these underappreciated '60s-'70s lenses. Built like tanks, with all metal barrels, long focus throws, and pleasing optics, the Super Takumars have gained a cult following among cinematographers on a budget, with some endearingly calling them the "poor man's Cookes." These copies aren't your grandpa's flea-market finds. They have been hand-picked for optical and mechanical quality, updated with unified 77mm front threads (80mm push caps), hard EF mounts (screw locked and properly aligned to avoid play), and seamless focus gears. They are not declicked, and focus the Nikon way. The lenses that are known to have a thorium element have been UV-treated for de-yellowing. They might not match as perfectly as modern lenses are likely to across a set - but these are the closest you'll ever see a Takumar set matching. The set includes: Fisheye-TAKUMAR 17/4 (no 77mm front thread) Super-Multi-Coated TAKUMAR 24/3.5 Super-TAKUMAR 28/3.5 Super-TAKUMAR 35/2 (early "fat" version, most desirable) Super-Multi-Coated TAKUMAR 50/1.4 (7 elements) Super-Multi-Coated TAKUMAR 85/1.8 (most rare and desirable) Super-TAKUMAR 105/2.8 Super-Multi-Coated TAKUMAR 135/2.5 Nanuk 930 Case with Custom Foam Padding Lenses will be delivered with EF mounts. Upon request I can revert them to M42 for you (you may not remove the EF mounts yourself. *PLEASE NOTE: These lenses are 40-50+ years old at this point, so minor dust may be seen inside the glass with a flashlight test, the barrels may have chipped paint, etc - none of these will affect image quality. Your utmost care for these while in your possession is essential and much appreciated. UPON REQUEST, I can provide a half-set for $99/day.

Funnily enough, we didn't end up using this kit for our shoot as we didn't end up needing it, but I would definitely rent from Roberto -- he was super accommodating for drop off and pickup times, and all the equipment was in great condition.
