Hi, I work in both video production and web development. I'm the co-founder of Boulder Digital Arts but live in Florida and Panama and try not to go too far north of those places unless it's summer. I'm creating some web series and working on capturing the programming at BDA.

Panasonic LUMIX GH4

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-GH4 4K Mirrorless Micro Four Thirds Digital Camera is a true hybrid camera designed for both professional photo and video use. It features a 16.05-megapixel Digital Live MOS sensor and a 4-CPU Venus Engine, capable of capturing high-resolution JPEG and RAW stills, as well as UHD 4K 3840x2160 30p/24p and cinematic DCI 4K 4096x2160 video at 24p. Like its predecessor, the GH4 features a weather-sealed magnesium alloy body, while offering increased resolution on both the OLED monitor and electronic viewfinder. It also features built-in Wi-Fi with NFC technology, in-camera creative controls, and a high-speed 49-point autofocus in both photo and video mode. The GH4 delivers video quality surpassing many professional video cameras. Video can be recorded in a variety of formats, from efficient AVCHD and AVCHD Progressive, to 200 Mbps All-Intra and 100 Mbps IPB MOV and MP4 formats. And because the GH4 is a global camera, the system frequency can be switched between 59.94 Hz (23.98 Hz) and 50 Hz, yielding a variety of recording options including 23.98p, 25p, 29.97p, 50p, and 59.94p. The system can also be switched to 24 Hz to capture true 24p in HD and 4K resolutions.

Live Production/Streaming Rig with Blackmagic Designs ATEM TV Studio

Complete live production and streaming system in a rack mount gator case. Complete list of components listed below. Switch between 4x HD-SDI sources (cameras, etc.), the included media player (for roll-ins, pre-produced material, etc.) and one HDMI source (such as a computer). The system is installed into an 8RU Gator brand case and has the following components (from top to bottom). All source must be sending the same video signal. Supported formats are 1080i50, 1080i59.94, 720p50 and 720p59.94. Just add your sources video and audio sources (cameras/mics/etc.) and a HDMI monitor and you're ready for a live production using the system's "multi view output" which shows all your sources, preview and program signals all on one display. You'll also need a computer with an ethernet connection running the free, Blackmagic ATEM switcher software in order to control the switcher with that computer (generally a laptop). This ATEM switcher allows for realtime, high-quality recording via it's USB connection with a computer using the h.264 codec. This USB connection can also provide a video signal for streaming services such as Livestream and YouTube. This rig can be paired with a Atomos Ninja 2 field recorder to capture the highest quality (10 bit, ProRes codec) recording: https://www.cameralends.com/rental/atomos-ninja-2-field-recording-and-monitor-sarasota-fl-usa-zach-d-1046 If you have cameras that output video via HDMI, you can use the Blackmagic Designs "mini converters" to convert that HDMI into an HD-SDI signal. I have three of the following available: https://www.cameralends.com/rental/blackmagic-design-mini-converter-hdmi-to-sdi-4k-sarasota-fl-usa-zach-d-1050 <strong>COMPONENTS INCLUDED:</strong> 1) Furman M-8LX power conditioner with pull-out lights http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0014598WQ/ 2) ATEM Television Studio http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/766072-REG/Blackmagic_Design_SWATEMTVSTU_ATEM_Television_Studio_Production.html 3) Behringer SCR-2496 analog to digital converter (required to input analog audio to the ATEM) http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/264903-REG/Behringer_SRC2496_ULTRAMATCH_PRO_Sample.html 4) Behringer SHARK FBQ100 (adds the necessary audio delay to match the video delay introduced by signal processing and can be used to add audio limiting/compression) http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/790569-REG/Behringer_FBQ100_SHARK_FBQ100_Automatic_Feedback.html 5) Micca Speck 1080p media player (plays a wide range of video files from USB sources or SD cards and is connected to the ATEM via HDMI for video playback) http://www.amazon.com/Micca-Full-HD-Portable-Digital-Player/dp/B008NO9RRM/ 6) Behringer XENYX 802 8-channel audio mixer http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/421981-REG/Behringer_802_XENYX_802_8_Channel_Compact.html 7) 8-port ethernet switch (to create or/or extend a network - this is connected to the ATEM and there are short network cables to connect to a and existing network at your location as well as the control computer).

Atomos Ninja 2

The Atomos Ninja 2 Video Recorder is an HDMI recorder and 800 x 480 resolution monitor that records up to 1080/30p/60i resolution directly from your camera's sensor to an HDD or SSD in Apple's ProRes or Avid's DNxHD edit-ready codecs. Color precision records at 10-bit, even from an 8-bit sensor, and color sampling at 4:2:2. Recording an 8-bit signal in 10-bit won't increase the quality of the signal but will let you work with the signal in post-production as if it's 10-bit, meaning you can add effects and not see jagged lines and other artifacts. Being able to record direct from the sensor lets you bypass your camera's compression and instead have the first compression be in an edit-ready codec. Generally, the less compressions, the less image degradation. More info: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/759460-REG/ATOMOS_ATOMNJA003_Ninja_Video_Hard_Disk.html
